Clapotis

Clapotis Start

I decided at the last minute to join the Ravelympics (Ravelry link) happening over at Ravelry.  It’s a lot like the Yarn Harlot’s Knitting Olympics from 2006, just during the summer Olympics instead of the winter.  Basically, you cast on for a project on the first day of the Olympics and have to finish it by the last day.  At first I wasn’t going to do it, I already have so many things started I didn’t want to start something new, but they are throwing such a good party over there on Ravelry, I got sucked in.  I decided to knit Clapotis for the Shawl Relay event.  I’m using Brooks Farms Mas Acero yarn, which is a gorgeous, soft wool/silk blend.  I bought it last October at Rhinebeck, and it’s the prettiest shades of blue and green.  They’re also perfect colors for the Water element which just started for Project Spectrum.  So far, it’s a pretty straight-forward knit, and I think I can finish on time (and even work on some other WIP’s, too) as long life stays calm and I don’t make too many mistakes (because that never happens, right?)
