Starting Off Easy

By msqknits

January is almost half over.  So what have I been doing?  Why, adding my stash to Ravelry of course (and trying to organize the yarn closet at the same time).

I’ve gotten through all the dishcloth cotton (an embarrassingly large amount) and am moving on to the wools.  It’s taking a long time, mostly because I do want to take pictures of it all.  Not everyone does this (not everyone even logs all their stash), but I admit I really like seeing it all nice and tidy in my Ravelry Stash, even if it isn’t so tidy in real life.  Plus, I think it’ll be much easier to hunt through my Ravelry pages to see what I have, rather than digging through the closet when I’m trying to see if I still have that skein of Lamb’s Pride in purple.

I’ve done a little knitting, too:

I finished the Party Scarf that I started in December.  I intended it to be a fun little sparkly scarf to wear to a Christmas party, but didn’t finish in time.  Which means I’m ahead of the game for next year’s party wear!  The scarf pattern is the Party Scarf by Crystal Palace Yarns, and I used Bernat Satin Sport yarn with Berroco Mosaic F/X on 6.5mm needles.  The hat is the finished Irish Hiking Hat, which I talked about here.  I think it ended up a little too short, and I may undo it and add another inch or so before the crown shaping, but for now I’m calling it finished.

I’m still working on a few older WIP’s, plus I have a couple new projects in mind, which makes for a happy start to the new year.  I hope you can say the same.
